In this video series we take an initial tour of the most common features in the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS). Part 1: Logging in and Locating Courses

Covers the recommended ways to log into Moodle and find your assigned courses.

Part 2: Profile and Preferences

This video covers the user profile and some of the preferences regarding how to navigate around the LMS as well as setting up the proper notifications for messages, forums, and assignments from within the Profile page.

Part 3: Hiding and Showing Course Components

Illustrates how to teachers can change their role to see the course from a student perspective. It covers how to hide individual items in the course, sections, and even the entire course from student view as well as how to reveal them to the students.

Part 4: Activities and Resources Overview

In the following video we cover the basic differences between Activities and Resources in Moodle. It is a brief discussion about the most common resources used in Moodle courses. It also illustrates the "drag-and-drop" feature for adding course files. (note that additional videos will cover these activities in more detail)

Part 5: Assignment Settings

The default "assignment" in Moodle is a submission area where students will turn in files for the instructor to mark. Some assignments can even be turned in as URL links or plain text. Watch to learn about most commonly used settings for these assignment types. We will cover due dates, submission types, and changing the assignment value for grading or how to mark it as an ungraded assignment.

Part 6: Discussion Forum Settings

The discussion forum is probably the single most utilized portion of any Moodle classroom. In the following video you will learn about the differences between the typical discussions as well as how to adjust the settings used for grading.
