PDF: A Tour of Question Banks and Quizzes
The PDF on the right is a quick overview of the quizzes and question bank areas within Moodle.
Quiz Bank Management
Before you can create a quiz, you will probalby want to have a bank of questions prepared. It is recommended to have more questions than you intend to have on a quiz so that Moodle can randomly create quizzes for each student. Personally, I also recommending separating your test banks into two categories. One containing Short Answer, Multiple Choice, True/False questions that are auto-graded and one containing essay or open-ended questions requiring manual grading.
Creating the Quiz
Once you have created questions, it is time to create the quiz itself. This requires creating the actual Quiz assignment which manages the timing and behavior of the quiz followed by editing the quiz itself in order to add questions.
Opening / Closing Quizzes
If you already have the quiz created with questions in place, this video is from the Moodle Quick Help series that will show you how to make the quiz available to students.
